Misogyny and climate catastrophe we can believe in.
Thanks to the fact that the maximum political memory in this country is 24 hours, the man who resigned in disgrace due to an absurdly long list of impropriety all the way back in February 2018 is now being considered as an attractive Deputy Prime Minister of Australia.
The man who lived rent-free in an Armidale townhouse with the woman he was having an affair and baby with, a woman who had been given a job by Nationals colleague Matt Canavan after they started their relationship, may return to the leadership of the National Party.
The man who was accused of sexual assault by complainant Catharine Marriott, who then had her name leaked to the press and waited eight months for an inconclusive investigation, may again play the role of Acting Prime Minister of this country.
The man who ensured the Murray-Darling Basin Authority prioritised irrigators over the environment every step of the way when he was Agriculture Minister, may once more become the second most powerful figure in Australia.
The man who is campaigning for new coal-fired power, the very cause of ever worsening droughts, floods, and bushfires in this country, may well soon hold the second highest office in the land.
God help us all.
