Much has been written about the spread of the Murdoch empire’s “cancer on democracy”. What started as a localised malignancy close to a century ago has metastasised and now threatens all the vital organs of democracy in the US, UK, and Australia. Parts two and three of this series try to redress the balance, starting with framing Rupert Murdoch as the true enemy of the people.

Yesterday, we brought you a list of 123 things the Liberal Government did to ‘tackle’ climate change. The list, compiled by Liam McLoughlin, was sparked by a ReachTel poll commissioned by Greenpeace Australia which found that for the voters of Wentworth – former Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull’s old seat – tackling climate change was their number one priority. The second priority for voters was immigration. As Wentworth voters head to the polls today, here’s a list (which reads like an International Criminal Court charge sheet) of what the Liberal Government has done to asylum seekers over the past five years, and in many cases is still doing.

A recent ReachTel poll commissioned by Greenpeace Australia found that for the voters of Wentworth – former Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull’s old seat – tackling climate change was their number one priority. With the Wentworth by-election to be staged on Saturday, Liam McLoughlin thought it timely to help the good voters of the eastern suburbs focus their minds on the Liberal Party’s action on climate change over the last five years. It’s a long list… actually, it’s a long Shitlist.
