Tomorrow we might wake up to a Prime Minister who actually respects women.
The husband of Chloe Shorten has displayed a level of self-awareness not seen by his political opponents at any point in their entire lives.
The man who is fortunate enough to be married to the daughter of Dame Quentin Bryce displayed a heartening degree of self-deprecation, humour, and love for his wife while out on his election day run this morning.
Despite the t-shirt, some feminist still have concerns that Chloe’s husband’s potential day job as Prime Minister may take away from Chloe’s work as Ambassador for the Victorian Government's Victoria Against Violence campaign and Ambassador for the Gidget Foundation, whose mission is to raise awareness of perinatal anxiety and depression.
Of course, in reality no-one should Vote 1 for Chloe Shorten’s husband because his plans still involve climate policies which will disproportionately harm women, but this kind of humorous nod to the fact he exists in his wife’s shadow certainly earns him preferences.
