Just as we mainly reflect on Martin Luther King Jr. as a real pain in the bum for those trying to get to work in the 1960s, the future will similarly condemn climate justice activists sacrificing their liberty for the sake of the planet.
History judges Rosa Parks harshly for inconveniencing a white man on a bus in the 1950s.
Similarly, no-one today looks kindly on those African-Americans who delayed the lunch orders of white folks during the sit-ins at “white-only” lunch counters.
And what about the good people whom the civil rights marches along the highway between Selma and Montgomery really stuffed up their brunch plans?
In the same way, future generations will look back at the Extinction Rebellion protesters blocking London intersections to get politicians to cease committing mass ecocide, and shake their heads in disgust.
