Looks like they bought all those new urinal cakes for nothing.
Strong Labor performers Tanya Plibersek, Penny Wong, and Chloe Shorten have been placed front and centre at the Labor campaign launch on Sunday.
The trio combined to deliver a damning assessment of the Coalition and a flattering appraisal of Bill Shorten.
Liberal strategists are now concerned the planned launch this Sunday at the Cronulla Beach men’s toilets may not look so good by comparison.
One insider said “We were going to cram Robert Menzies’ corpse, John Howard’s mendacious racism, Malcolm Turnbull’s ego, and Tony Abbott’s weirdness into a cubicle and just hope the last two wouldn’t kill each other. We also had some great plans to use the urinals as powerful symbolism for our attitudes to the working class. And although our party’s three female members would have had to listen to the speeches from outside the toilet block, at least that would have incentivised them to work a bit harder next time.”
“But now that Labor’s spotlighted the work of their females, that’s all ruined. We might have to hire out a kitchen instead.”
