The Home Affairs Minister will break the Guinness World Record for longest game of hide and don’t seek, beating the previous record set by Scott Morrison at the NSW election.
In recent weeks it has become clear that the only constituents who still like Peter Dutton share his genetic makeup, and even then, several family members have asked for a DNA test.
While his toxicity has been obvious for some time, it was his comments about Labor candidate Ali France’s disability that prompted the PM to ask Mr Dutton to go and hide in a remote tropical cupboard for the next month.
The news has prompted some asylum seeker advocates to comment that one month of imprisonment at the hands of Scott Morrison will help him empathise with refugees who have suffered six years from the same perpetrator. Peter Dutton has as usual dismissed the views of human rights defenders as preposterous.
The move comes as MPs in Victoria erase the Liberal Party’s name and logo from their campaign material.
How fitting that after two full terms of hiding refugees from the Australian public, it is Peter Dutton and the Liberal Party itself that must now go into hiding.
