Ita Buttrose has bravely boycotted the airwaves to send the Government a clear signal that it has free rein over the ABC.

A woman who spent most of her journalistic career working for either the Packers or the Murdochs, two of the most ethical media mogul families in Australia, handpicked to serve as ABC Chair by one of the most conservative Prime Ministers in Australian history, has slammed the Government’s Aunty abuse through some pretty powerful silence.

Said to be holding a candelight vigil for the ABC in the privacy of her own home, Ms Buttrose was quick to accuse her own organisation of liberal bias but has been positively languorous in offering any criticism of the Government or defence of the beloved institution she supposedly represents.

In other words, she’s doing her job exactly as Scott Morrison intended.
