So long as you remain at the midpoint between Labor’s policy which kills entire ecosystems and the Coalition policy which kills everything, you are doing your job as a journalist.

If we learnt one thing from Insiders on Sunday, it’s that an Opposition Party with at least some ambition for their citizens not to be burnt alive deserves far more scrutiny that a Government staffed by arsonists.

Insiders host David Speers and his three panellists spent 43 minutes of Sunday’s episode hauling Labor over the coals for failing to do the numbers for their goal of exposing Australians to a somewhat cooler apocalypse.

Combine this with the attempted torching of Adam Bandt by Fran Kelly on Insiders late last year, and it’s apparent that the more concern you have for life on Earth, the more rational your climate policy, and the closer your connection to actual climate science, the more you deserve a public roasting.
