The campaign promise to excommunicate Rupert Murdoch, who was forced to renounce his Australian citizenship in 1985 so he could own US TV stations, is expected to give Shorten a landslide election victory and significantly reduce the resources required for counter-terrorism.
Now that most of the Australian electorate realises Rupert Murdoch is a pestilent blight plaguing Australian social, cultural, political and environmental landscapes, Opposition Leader Bill Shorten has promised to rid this country of the mogul’s influence should he be elected PM.

The key campaign promise comes after a community reckoning in the wake of Christchurch with the pivotal role Murdoch has played in disseminating hate speech in general and Islamophobia in particular.

It also comes the day after this headline was the final straw for Murdoch’s whipping boy Bill Shorten.
Australian counter-terrorism experts have welcomed the news, saying the banishment of Murdoch from Australia will significantly reduce the atmosphere of fear, intimidation, and extremism which has benighted this country for far too long.
