The Leader of the Opposition is on a roll. First he called Cory Bernadi a homophobe. The he announced some policies and started talking like a human being. Now he’s thought of a neat way to cure Bernadi of his homophobia: forcing him to watch hundreds of hours of gay sex.
Exposure therapy is a common and highly effective form of behaviour therapy known to help in the experience of generalised anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder and specific phobias.
The technique works by exposing the patient to increasing amounts of the feared stimulus. Fear is minimised with each increase of the stimulus until the fear is gone. So Bernadi would be first shown a carrot, then a man sucking on a carrot, followed by a fine selection of gay porn including ManWatcher, Packin’ Meat, How The West Was Hung and Glory Holes of San Francisco.
Let’s hope gay porn exposure therapy can be rolled out across the Liberal Party so the nation’s children can stop paying such a high price for the ridiculous fears of insecure old men.
