A phalanx of the nation’s free speech soldiers have been quick to salute the award-winning journalist.
Australia’s top free speech heroes including Cory Bernardi, Andrew Bolt, Gerard Henderson, Alan Jones, Mark Latham, and David Leyonhjelm have been working the phones constantly ever since news broke that Julian Assange had been dragged from the Ecuadorean embassy in London.
These fearless free speech shock troops, historically known for their consistent and principled defence of the key democratic principle, have continued their brave advocacy by doing all they can for the Nobel Peace Prize nominated publisher.
“If we can compare same-sex marriage to bestiality, breach the Racial Discrimination Act, defend racist cartoons, broadcast heinous racial slurs, defame ABC journalists, bully female colleagues, and still have highly successful careers, then surely he should be able to report US war crimes without spending the rest of his life in prison.”
