Albo has pledged to get to the bottom of which party calling itself the Opposition could have let this happen.

Labor leader Anthony Albanese has said there are serious questions to answer for all politicians who passed the legislation last year which led to the ABC raids yesterday.

“It is quite frankly I think outrageous that an opposition party, whoever they are, passed a foreign espionage bill with 20 year prison sentences for publishing protected information deemed by the government likely to harm Australia’s interests.”

“I find it quite extraordinary that any so called Opposition could pass through such laws then act surprised when those laws are implemented exactly as designed.”

“I would find it extraordinary if no one in the opposition saw this coming.”
