Treasurer Scott Morrison says it went well.

There was chaos at a famous Melbourne intersection this morning as the Prime Minister took his transport road show off the trams and onto, well, the roads.

Attempting to quash the perception that his government is “wishy-washy” and lacks direction, the Prime Minister thought a stint at traffic control would prove to Australians just how well he can give direction.

Much like his attempts to show the nation just how close he is to his bestie Scott Morrison, by awkwardly walking to a car with him, the plan backfired.

After just five minutes of Mr Turnbull directing traffic outside Flinders St Station and Federation Square, the intersection was a mess and the public mood was confused, disappointed and angry.
