Shame on him, whoever he is.
The former Communications Minister responsible for switching Australia’s NBN from Fibre to the Premises (FTTP) to a “multi-technology mix” to help Foxtel compete against Netflix has unleashed on whichever former Prime Minister was responsible for the slow loading times and interruptions to the Skype calls he’s been making from New York to his son Alex.
Former Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has been calling Alex at home regularly since last Friday when his son directed the citizens of Wentworth not to vote for the Liberals given their lack of climate policy. Malcolm has been urging Alex to shush about the whole subject just in case it reminds anyone of the litany of climate crimes he committed as Prime Minister.
While Malcolm’s Point Piper mansion is connected to a 100 Mbps plan which uses a hybrid fibre coaxial cable, sadly Alex is one of the 54,000 Australians connected to the NBN who can’t even get the guaranteed 25 Mbps minimum the government promised at the election. The digital divide in Australia is real and it exists even within the Turnbull family.
The recently deposed Liberal Leader said whoever is responsible for the “calamitous train wreck” that is Australia’s NBN should take a good hard look at themselves in the mirror.
