Much like seeing a total solar eclipse or a decent episode of Sunrise, many Australians thought witnessing a Prime Minister as profoundly incompetent, hypocritical, self-contradictory, embarrassing, and downright shameful as Tony Abbott would be a vanishingly rare event. They were wrong.

Just as once in one-hundred-year weather events seem to be occurring ever more frequently thanks to climate change, so too are terrible Australian Prime Ministers thanks to the Liberal Party.

There’s no doubt Prime Minister Tony Abbott plunged new lows of competence for this country despite failing to crack John Howard’s record for creating a lasting legacy of racist and militarist nationalism.

While Malcolm Turnbull was just as bad as Howard and Abbott, at least he looked suave in a suit.

Now we have Daggy Dad Sharkies ScoBo Morrison who has none of the deceptive charm of Turnbull and none of the mercilessly savvy political instincts of John Howard.

In Morrison’s defence he does manage to combine Howard’s approach to truth, Turnbull’s relationship with conviction, and Abbott’s connection with the electorate.
