It takes a special brand of psychopathy to spend over a decade engaging in opportunistic anti-Muslim attacks and then perform shock when an Australian citizen exposed to your regular propaganda massacres Muslims in their place of worship.

We know from a study of Scott Morrison’s political career and the criteria for psychopathy that there can be little doubting his credentials as such, and this has only been confirmed in the aftermath of the devastating white supremacist terrorist attacks in Christchurch yesterday.

According to criminal psychologist Robert Hare’s 20-Item Psychopathy Checklist, a psychopath will engage in pathological lying and manipulation, show a lack of remorse or guilt along with shallow emotions, and also exhibit criminal versatility. All such traits and more have been on full display from the Prime Minister both throughout his time in Australian politics and especially in the last 24 hours.

A widely shared 2011 SMH article entitled “Morrison Sees Votes In Anti-Muslim Strategy” states that the current PM “urged the shadow cabinet to capitalise on the electorate's growing concerns about "Muslim immigration", "Muslims in Australia" and the "inability" of Muslim migrants to integrate”.

His Islamophobic advocacy inside cabinet came around the time he attacked Labor for flying 22 asylum seekers from Christmas Island to Sydney to attend the funerals of eight people, including two babies, who died in the December 2010 shipwreck.

Yes, this is the same Scott Morrison who recently spent $60,000 on a 30-minute press conference in an empty Christmas Island to prison convince Australians he was the only one who could protect them from a naval invasion of Muslims.

It also came after he played an instrumental role in cutting an Australian program to fund schools in Indonesia.

According to the SMH, Mr Morrison “told the shadow cabinet meeting on December 1 at the Ryde Civic Centre that the Coalition should ramp up its questioning of "multiculturalism" and appeal to deep voter concerns about Muslim immigration and "inability" to integrate”.

Fast forward to yesterday when he said the anti-Muslim immigration sentiments expressed by an Australian Senator in the wake of the white supremacist terrorist attacks were disgusting and “have no place in Australia, let alone the Australian Parliament.” This would have been more beneficial to the 49 murdered Muslims in Christchurch had he not doggedly pursued such views in Parliament in the first place.

Morrison also tweeted “there is absolutely no place in either of our countries for the hatred and intolerance that has bred this extremist, terrorist violence and we condemn it”.

It was unclear whether this meant he was disavowing his entire career in Australian politics.
