“It’s the perfect system!”, one journalist said.
A prominent news editor at one of the few Australian media outlets still concerned with the truth has streamlined stories about the Liberal Party into one of three categories. It is perhaps no surprise that two out of three of these classifications involve corruption, while two out of three involve sex crimes.
The editor introduced the new system when she noticed over eight years of reporting on the Abbott/Turnbull/Morrison Governments that beneath the cosmetic differences in stories, all of them could be reduced to either corruption and/or sexual assault.
This list of 100 corruption scandals, which have apparently done no damage to the Government, gives you some idea of just how easily their entire record is reducible to two primal impulses – getting what you can for yourself, and using women to do so.
