PM says the “significant error” is unforgivable.
The national broadcaster is set to have its funding cut by 60x its annual budget due to a terrible mishap in which a leftist was accidentally given a chance to express a historical materialist viewpoint on Insiders.
The humiliating bungle was apparently made by a new ABC intern, who was given the chance to book one of the guests for the popular Sunday morning politics program.
The naïve intern took the 2017 amendment to the Australian Broadcasting Corporation Act 1983 literally when it states “presentation by the Corporation of news and information is fair, balanced, accurate and impartial according to the recognised standards of objective journalism”. She proceeded to book leftist Jeremy Poxon, head of the Australian Unemployed Workers Union, thinking a 1:3 ratio of leftists to Murdoch mouthpieces might at least help correct the default imbalance a little.
with an Opposition this pathetic & ineffectual, & a media this sycophantic & servile, i expect morrison will recover from this $60b fuck-up faster then he recovered from his lil hawaiian holiday🙃

The intern was reportedly unaware that the amendment was an initiative of a conservative government and One Nation, and so of course means “fair and balanced” in the Orwellian/Fox News sense.
Chair of the ABC, Ita Buttrose, has apologised for the embarrassing stuff-up, fired the intern, and pledged never to broadcast the opinions of peasant scum again.
