The Opposition Leader has already defended the new climate policy’s incoherence as perfectly consistent with previous positions.
Australia’s recent bushfire crisis highlights the urgent need for Labor to walk both sides of the street on climate policy, says Anthony Albanese.
It’s for this reason that Mr Albanese is using a speech to a progressive think tank today to announce Labor’s ambitious “Renewable Coal” policy, which perfectly balances the need to alienate both their progressive and coal mining constituencies.
While the new policy makes no sense and is completely out of touch with both reality and urgent calls by the world’s scientists to rapidly phase out fossil fuels, it does sound a bit like they are doing something.
