Dividing news into politics, economics, environment, culture, and sport unnecessarily complicates a binary system.
All major media outlets in Australia have announced a complete overhaul of their content categories in a move designed to streamline news production.
Traditional categories like world news, science and immigration have become outmoded in a world in which news stories are either reporting what Israel Folau said, what he wrote, what others said about what Israel Folau said or wrote, or what still others think about what others said about what Israel Folau said or wrote, or they are not.
The move has been welcomed by the Australian public who are sick and tired of having to wade through a byzantine archival system when all they want to know is “does this story contain the homophobic opinions of an attention-seeking rugby player, or doesn’t it?”
