It seems Chris Gale might not be across feminist literature as thoroughly as first thought.
Sources close to Gale say he recently finished Naomi Wolf’s 1990 classic analysis of the destructive male reduction of women to their physical appearance. They say he’s since been trying to engage with some of the book’s ideas in public.
Unfortunately for the cricket superstar and journalist Mel McLaughlin, Gale has woefully misread some of the central arguments of the book and instead clumsily reinforced the message that sexual harassment in the workplace is just a bit of a laugh.
Rumours that Chris Gale, Piers Morgan, the snickering cricket commentary team and Channel Ten management are all involved in the same feminist reading group are as yet unverified.
