The Turnbull government is making it clear to the world that Australia is open for business. Every heritage-listed corner of Australia.
Now that Adani can cruise around the The Great Barrier Reef like it’s their own water wonderland, the federal government is keen to give encouraging economic signals to the fossil fuel industry about other popular Aussie landmarks.
Ever the innovators, the federal government hopes to approve countless landmark coal and gas projects in 2016. The Daintree rainforest will be cleared for 15 new coal mines, fracking will begin in earnest at Uluru, the Twelve Apostles and the Three Sisters, while the entire Melbourne CBD will be bulldozed to make way for a new network of coal fired power stations.
The coal and gas industries are very pleased with the Turnbull government. After countless decades of being oppressed by a thriving grassroots democracy, these mega-corporations are finally having their voices heard.
