They've got this.

Can everyone just calm down? You may think the world is on fire, you may feel sometimes like we are just days from oblivion, and you may believe the policy responses are worse than doing nothing. Stop being such a Gregory Grimsby and start reading all about the Coalition’s National Energy Guarantee!

You see, according to another Gregory, Greg Jericho in The Guardian, "instead of raising the share of renewables in the energy sector to 34% by 2030 as would occur should no new policy come into effect, it will raise it to 36%". It really is slightly better than nothing! Problem solved!

But don’t take it from Guardian Greg, take it from Minister for the Environment and Energy Josh Frydenberg:

“In the last few weeks alone we’ve seen 33.5°C temperatures in the Arctic circle, lake and sea waters 5-6°C warmer than normal, 30-50% less agricultural yield in Scandinavia, the worst ever outbreak of forest fires in Sweden, the worst flooding in Japan in decades, and dozens of deaths in a heatwave in Quebec. It’s time we realise that rapidly scaling up renewables would create more jobs, reduce power prices, and would also help avoid the complete collapse of our societies…sorry, I meant wouldn’t."
