The Coalition’s “one-off” cash payments to help struggling Australians waste their vote on a political party hellbent on their long-term ongoing suffering will not be a one-off after all. Come election day, Liberal volunteers will not only be handing out how to vote cards but also large wads of cash.
Questions have been raised about both forms of bribery. Yesterday, Opposition Leader Bill Shorten had this to say about the energy supplement payments:
“This one-off payment excludes people on the lowest incomes and pales in comparison to the ongoing benefits to be reaped by those on high incomes from the Morrison government’s existing high-end tax cuts worth billions.”
It has also been pointed out that this energy supplement for welfare recipients is far less than the amount the Coalition tried to cut in last year’s budget before the Senate forced a backdown.
Regarding the election day bribes, all voters except those sharing genetics or a marital bed (!) with a Liberal Party politician have said it’d take more money than a Paladin contract to convince them to vote for a clown collective of ecocidal sociopaths.
