Finally, visibility for the cast of Friends.
Fans of the 90s smash hit sit-com who have been disturbed by the scarcity of cast reunions over the last decade need worry no longer. The Internet is abuzz with the news that Courteney Cox, Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow will play Black Lives Matter founders Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, and Opal Tometi in an upcoming Hollywood biopic.
Asked about her feelings about playing a black woman, Jennifer Aniston said “I’m honoured to represent such tenacious, courageous women. There was a period between Marley and Me in 2008 and He’s Just Not That Into You in 2009 when I didn’t have work and life was pretty tough. It’s through this hardship that I’ll be able to connect with the struggles of African Americans.”
The choice of actors does have some critics. Black Lives Matter protesters snuck into the press conference which announced the upcoming film. They started misbehaving and their voices were swiftly silenced.
