To satirise Liberal MPs, just quote them.
Some politicians are easy to satirise. You just write their names. Try it for yourself: Barnaby Joyce, Peter Dutton. Greg Hunt. Hilarious, right?
To be honest, the Coalition make it pretty easy.
Step 1. Remember something, anything, any Liberal or National MP has ever said.
Step 2. Paraphrase it and bam, you’ve got yourself some biting satire.
The Greens on the other hand make it really tough. As a party of basic human decency and compassion, satirising the Greens is like ridiculing your favourite Aunty. Why would you want to make her feel bad?
Apart from the fact that rational policymaking and intelligent public discourse doesn’t make for great satire. Here are some samples I’ve been trying out:
Greens Treat Indigenous Australians With Respect
Greens Release Refugees From Detention In Record Time
Adam Bandt Makes Cogent Argument For 90% Renewables By 2030
See? Not that funny.
You know who is funny? Tony Abbott. The man is a satirical savant.
