What the world needs now is more fuel for the neoliberal fires of social/environmental breakdown.
Treasurer Josh Frydenberg has used an Insiders interview to tout the neoliberal death cult responsible for the Global Financial Crisis, the offshoring of wealth and power, hyper media concentration, the corporate hijacking of democracy, the smashing of trade unions, rampant corruption and cronyism, historic inequality, wage stagnation and job insecurity, increased child poverty, rising homelessness and housing unaffordability, the erosion of public health, education, and the wider social safety net, epidemics of self-harm, loneliness, eating disorders, depression, anxiety and social phobia, accelerated deforestation, significantly increased pandemic risk, unimaginable levels of pollution, climate breakdown, and the collapse of entire ecosystems as the best path to recovery for Australia.
This is what Mr Frydenberg calls his “inspiration”.
