It’s almost as if the media’s endless repetition of the dangerous and inflammatory racism of Hanson and Trump somehow isn’t conducive to a better society.
In the latest episode of Kunts for Klicks, two powerfully ignorant white racists walk into a TV segment, both say some ignorant white racist things, then both get handsomely for the damage they’ve done. Tragically, this is not a joke, as much as Pauline Hanson tries to make herself the punchline.
As planned, the wilful Kuntery has generated loads of Klicks for media corporations, tonnes of revenue for advertisers, volumes of misinformation for the general public, and yet more injustice for the world’s oldest living culture.
Meanwhile over in the United States, the world’s most powerful ignorant white racist yet again successfully ensnared the entire country in his white supremacist frame at great expense to meaningful policy debate, four Democratic socialist women, as well as the poor people they represent.
While the far right continues to drag the left into the forever culture wars and while centrists are too busy frothing over Barack Obama’s latest tweet to notice, the good news is capitalism is killing it on every level.
