Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has announced a new systemic approach to tackling injustice. The new system involves waiting for Four Corners to uncover an issue and then doing the bare minimum in response, at least until all the fuss dies down.
Mr Turnbull has expressed great confidence in the new system. “It’s a win-win really. I look like I care, the public feels satisfied that something is being done about the problem.”
Asked if such sporadic and superficial responses would actually do anything to address systemic problems of institutionalised violence and racist and paternalistic policymaking, Mr Turnbull mumbled something incoherent about jobs and growth.
