The RFS has taken concrete climate action by setting fire to every Coalition MP.
The NSW Rural Fire Service has stepped up their efforts to prepare for future fires by taking the PM’s advice seriously that hazard reduction is “as important as emissions reduction and I think many would argue even more so because it has an even more direct, practical impact on the safety of a person going into a bushfire season".
RFS Commissioner Shane Fitzsimmons said “What this summer has shown, beyond a shadow of a doubt, is that we need to meet and beat more comprehensive hazard reduction targets. Which is why these targets must now also encompass the most hazardous politicians in Canberra.”
“This nice controlled burn we’re maintaining through the ranks of the Liberal frontbench should really limit the fuel load. Under this new policy we’ll be able to not only clear out the fuel build-up, but also should be able to stimulate the germination of a much more desirable ecosystem in Canberra.”
