It’s actually a win-win for the Liberals which combines their two great loves: punishing refugees and ripping up national heritage.
Tasmania is about to become the home to all of Australia’s icons as the Morrison Government shows it will do whatever it takes to torture innocent people.
You may remember Lambie’s stern warning to the Prime Minister on election night that getting legislation through would be expensive for the Government but great for Tassie.

Few anticipated that within six months of the election, Morrison would already be promising to dig up both Bondi Beach and The Blue Mountains and ship them to Hobart in exchange for Lambie’s support for the Medevac repeal.
There are mixed consequences of this deal to overturn basic humanitarian provisions by moving all tourist attractions to Tasmania.
On the one hand the deal will permanently scar a variety of Australian landscapes, endanger the lives of refugees, and further entrench the nation’s reputation as a human rights pariah.
On the other, foodies will enjoy the fact that Tasmania will be renamed the Pork-and-Apple Isle.
