A Queensland man has caught Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton overindulging on the civil liberties of Australians.
We’ve all done it. Our eyes get too big for our stomachs and we eat one too many mince pies at Christmas or that extra piece of workplace birthday cake we really didn’t need.
In a very similar way, Australia’s favourite son Peter Dutton has been caught on camera chowing down on one too many freedoms we should all hold dear.
While we’ve lost count of the number of times we’ve seen the former Immigration Minister gobble up the freedoms of refugees only to be ignored by the Australian media, the images of Mr Dutton swallowing freedom of the press whole has come as a shock to many Australian journalists.
The freedom of women, men, and children fleeing persecution not to be imprisoned and tortured indefinitely on remote island prison camps is one thing.
But infringing on the rights of News Corp journalists who’ve spent the last 15 years egging on the police state, now that’s beyond the pale.
