Labor leader Anthony Albanese has warned that child molesters, rapists and murderers may be wandering the halls of Parliament unless laws allowing Liberals in are changed.
Albanese declared “hundreds upon hundreds” of predatory men may be sent to Parliament House from Liberal electorates and pledged that should he win the next election, this dangerous legislative precedent will come to an end.
“The may be a paedophile, they may be a rapist, they may be a murderer, and as it stands we just have to take them,” Mr Albanese said.
Prime Minister Scott Morrison slammed Labor’s proposed legislative repeal as “scaremongering” and said Albanese should be “ashamed of himself”.
