The British PM has decided against performing the humiliating act live on national television.

In the first ever episode of Black Mirror called “The National Anthem”, British Prime Minister Michael Callow accepts his humiliating fate and has sex with a pig in exchange for the kidnapped Princess Susannah. As a result, Callow remains Prime Minister and even increases his popularity.

Perhaps missing this instructive episode, Theresa May has taken the opposite approach and chosen cowardice over humiliation by indefinitely postponing the vote on her Brexit deal.

May has also refused a second referendum on Brexit citing heartfelt concerns that it would dent people’s faith in the democratic process.

“Allowing citizens to vote is the scourge of democracy. Also, undermining democracy is only okay if it gives you a temporary reprieve from public humiliation.”
