Told by the world’s scientists that our economic system is hurtling us towards the decimation of humanity and the extinction of most life on Earth, the other half of the country still reckons capitalism is grouse.
Eight million Australian voters are starting to think an economic system which incentivises the complete breakdown of all life support systems might suffer from a design flaw.
Many of these voters believe the best way to convince more conservative voters to listen to the science, reject capitalism, and work together towards a more compassionate and sustainable future, is to call them all dickswabs.
Others think countering the transparent and age-old divide-and-conquer culture wars of the right with a kind, joyful, and unified solidarity and a determination to sweep progressives into power through mass movement building, might be more likely to succeed.
But you know, both good options.
