Give oligarchy a chance.

Holy warriors in the Liberal Party, whose longstanding existential threats to Western democracy have escalated in the context of climate and ecological breakdown, have called on Labor to end its damaging war on the wealthy.

Since its founding in 1944, the Liberals have cast themselves as a militant movement that burns with the mission to crush worker’s rights and punish the poor.

Since September 11, 2001, their mission has become ever more destructive and nihilistic, recently campaigning for the destruction of all life on earth for the sake of their one true god: capital.

It’s now a fierce contest to see whether their call for an end to class warfare, or The Australian Editor-at-Large Paul Kelly’s call for more civility in political discourse, will be used to exemplify the 2020 Macquarie Dictionary definition of hypocrisy.
