Bridget McKenzie taking a bit of a breather doesn’t count.

After a Nine exposé revealing apparent branch-stacking and abusive remarks by a Victorian Minister, Premier Dan Andrews immediately sacked Adem Somyurek, described his comments as “unacceptable”, referred him to the Victorian anti-corruption commission and the police, and is now pushing for his expulsion from the ALP.

After anaemic media coverage of Watergate, Au Pairgate, Grassgate, Robert’s Internetgate, $30 million-for-Rupertgate, Jobs-for-loversgate, Paladin Security Gatesgate, Reefgate, Manilagate, Helloworld!gate, Wesfarmersgate, How-to-votegate, Barnaby-as-drought-envoygate, Glady Liugate, Angus-from-Forgerygate, Regional-investmentgate, and Sports Rortsgate, Prime Minister Scott Morrison gave Bridget McKenzie a little rest on the backbench.

It’s almost like the media isn’t really fair and balanced after all.
