You thought being a woman in Gilead was bad, try being a woman in the Liberal Party.
There is a dystopic place of Christian fundamentalism where power-hungry leaders govern a hierarchical regime in which women are surveilled, subjugated and bullied and it’s called the Liberal party room.
Thankfully Prime Minister Scott Morrison is offering a path through the nightmare, with free bonnets and red cloaks for every woman in the party.
He said “Red symbolises the blood spilt all over the Liberal women during the recent spill while the bonnets will shield our ladies from seeing the awful misogyny rampant throughout our party but also help make them even less visible”.
