Treasurer Scott Morrison has mocked Labor’s “War On Growth”, bragging that it’s got nothing on the government’s wars on everything and everyone, from naively idealistic schoolchildren to the lazy Great Barrier Reef to ailing grandmothers doing bugger all for wealth creation.

The Treasurer said “This election is about trust. Who do you trust to wage the most wars on vulnerable people? Who do you trust to aim their weapons at health and education? Who do you trust to pulverise the reef and torture refugees? Full credit to them, Labor’s actually pretty good at that last one, but we’re still the champions.”

In response to a question implying his militaristic rhetoric is a bit overblown, Morrison distracted journalists by picking up his toy soldiers and yelling “piew, piew, piew”.
