Scott Morrison learned much from his time in the Immigration Portfolio. The Ministry was a unique opportunity to hone his keen sense of justice and fairness and develop his personal qualities of warmth, kindness and honesty.
Best of all, it was an excellent chance to master his ability to keep secrets.
Whether you’ve cheated on your partner, murdered your dog, or killed asylum seekers, your secret’s safe with Scott.
It’s this championship level of secrecy that will make public budgets a thing of the past.
Announcing the semantically imperfect but rhetorically symmetrical 'Operation Sovereign Risk', Morrison has declared that knowledge of government spending would threaten national security. He said “If voters really understood how drastically we redistribute wealth to the rich and polluting, they’d be dangerously aware of how we don’t give a shit about the public interest. That level of public engagement and protest can’t possibly be good for the nation. In the wise words of my personal hero George Orwell, ignorance is strength.”
