Australia is a multicultural nation. 25% of our population is born overseas and one quarter of those were born in Asia. 46% have at least one parent born overseas. Nearly 20% of Australians speak a language other than English at home. Over 200 languages are spoken in the Australian community. 60 different languages are spoken by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Australians. We have migrants from 232 different countries.
It’s so refreshing to know that Malcom, Julie, Warren, George, Karen, Simon, Jamie, Mal, Darren, Steven, Richard, Peter, Mitch, Paul, Josh, Luke, Alex, Greg, Barnaby, Michael, Susan, James, Scott, Fiona, Kelly, Christian, Christopher, Andrew, Stuart, Wyatt, Anne, Nigel and Alan will be fully representing this rich cultural diversity.
