Perhaps because we’re used to cult leaders going down with their victims, it comes as quite galling news that Smoko Morrison is off surfing in Hawaii as we choke on the fumes of his creation.
Unlike the WACO siege, when religious sect leader David Kouresh remained with his followers for 51 days, religious and neoliberal sect leader Scott Morrison fled from his followers when the going got tough, lacking even the guts of history’s worst cult criminals.
Given the noise many Australians are making despite assiduous efforts to the contrary, like many notorious cult leaders, things may not end well for the dear leader.
