The ruling class needs to be much more transparent and accountable if they want us to download the app, Australia has said.
It’s been revealed that 20 million Australians have not downloaded COVIDSafe since it was released on Monday – so much more honesty and openness is needed from our politicians if they want us to trust them.
We need the Morrison Government to adopt these three measures if they’re so keen on collecting our data:
1.Establish a national anti-corruption commission - one with actual, comprehensive powers.
2.Fix political donation laws – ban donations from development, tobacco, alcohol, gambling, banking, defence and pharmaceutical industries, cap all other donations to no more than $1,000 per year, and maximise donation transparency.
3.Sack Peter Dutton - obviously.
All of these conditions must be met before we can re-open our democracy.
