Plibersek bravely counters jingoistic Australian nationalism with cringeworthy American nationalism.

Labor left hero Tanya Plibersek has followed the trail blazed by fellow Tory fighter Anthony Albanese by outflanking the Liberals to their right and calling on all Labor MPs to pledge their allegiance to that great Liberal deity, John Howard.

Shortly after suggesting Australian kids sing The Star-Spangled Banner before “Math” class each morning, Plibersek called on her colleagues to eviscerate any remnants of their own souls and pledge undying loyalty to the Liberal Party.

Plibersek has defended the pledge by saying “How else are we going to win? By having principles and arguing for them? Lol.”
