“He’s not actively trying to kill us all in the short term like Trump, he’s doing great!!!”
- David Speers
Australia has reached a broad consensus that Scott Morrison has done a great job handling coronavirus, and how can you disagree when 99% of the nation’s media insists you don’t?
There is of course truth in the idea Morrison is doing a great job – you’d say the same about a smug first speaker for the affirmative who doesn’t completely bungle the script written for him by his teammates.
And then later that day when that same 1st speaker goes around the schoolyard drowning pigeons and setting fire to playground rubbish because his mates paid him $50 on a dare, you’d still focus on what a great job he did in the debate.
Here are a few choice reviews of Morrison’s performance from some of Australia’s media luminaries:
“It’s like Florence Nightingale and Mahatma Gandhi gave birth to an angel. He hasn’t even gone to Hawaii once.” -David Koch
“He’s killing it but I’d like to see more of a focus on killing native species. He’s also to be congratulated on his white skin” -Andrew Bolt
“If I could smell his hair I would” - Alan Jones
