Who knew the PM could be so historically accurate.
Scott Morrison has shot down calls for a Royal Commission into the Government’s Robodebt scheme because it’s being “fixed”, kind of like how cricketers “fix” matches.
The PM says he’s “fixing the problem” of Robodebt. I’m sorry, but you can’t “fix” 800 suicides. People who received Robodebt notices. We don’t know how causal they all were, but isn’t it worth finding out? It’s 800 lives lost. Is that not a tragedy worthy of investigation?

He also said a Royal Commission is not the appropriate tool for this sort of botched government scheme, saying they should be reserved for the small-minded anti-union vendettas of overgrown conservative student politicians.
He concluded by saying in his experience they should led by serial sexual harassers and they are fresh out of those at the moment, with all the best ones under a cloud of investigation or facing impending lawsuits.
