Renewable energy is a beautiful thing.
On a typical day, coal provides 73% of Australia’s energy needs. Since Scott Morrison tootled off to Hawaii as the nation burned, this has been outstripped by the red-hot rage of Australians.
Prior to the PM’s trip, and perhaps surprisingly given everything we know about Scott Morrison, rage was only providing 10-20% of Australia’s fuel. Since Mr Morrison decided sipping Mai Tais and hanging loose trumped the needs of the nation’s firefighters, the proportion has skyrocketed to 80-90%.
Some analysts think harnessing the power of this reservoir of boiling anger could be the climate solution we’ve been looking for.
