Well, the holiday is over. We’ve all enjoyed the last two years off, splitting our time between throwing a frisbee, playing lawn tennis and occasionally saying “look at that clownish thing Tony Abbott said this hour”. Now Australian satirists must pick up their quills and set about an intelligent chuckle based critique of the Liberal Party with a man at the helm who is at least 50% less likely to eat a raw onion.
Going back to work has it’s upsides. It was tough to wake up every day and know Abbott’s Karl Pilkingtonesque genius would always outdo your own imagination. See here, here, here and here.
For two years the jokes have been written for us by Australia’s first ever satirist-turned-Prime Minister.
Now it’s our turn.
