Finally, a meritocracy.

Eight days ago, reality TV absurdity Scott Cam defended his $345,000 salary for 15 months “work” on three short videos, four social media posts, and a profile on a government website.

Asked if it was a fair salary, he said “of course I do. That is the value of the brand and the profile the government deem fit to pay me. I have a high profile and the government wanted to utilise that.”

Now his survival in coming months depends on the actual work of doctors, nurses, chemists, register operators, shelf-stackers, delivery drivers, cleaners and garbage collectors, he has paid back the $345,000 in full and requested the Government distribute it to those who actually understand what hard work looks like.
