Unsatisfied with cuts to schools, education, renewable energy and corporate tax rates, Treasurer Scott Morrison also made cuts to his flagship slogan.
The draft slogan used honesty as the best policy, admitting the Coalition’s direct action policy would inevitably lead to climate catastrophe and mass species extinction, although there’d be a few jobs around as it happened.
Later drafts of the slogan cut the “On A Dead Planet” phrase in keeping with the overriding Budget 2016 themes of austerity and total dishonesty.
